He has trained in neuropsychiatry at junior doctor and registrar level and currently practices at the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS trust as a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist.

    Dr Lohawala previously led Cambian Healthcare Neuropsychiatry and Brain Injury service for 2 years between 2012-2014 and managed the Brain Injury admission, Dementia and Huntington wards in St Andrews Healthcare for 1 year where he was the Medical Lead. Dr Lohawala has acquired the Postgraduate Diploma in Neuropsychiatry from the University of Birmingham with merit and lectures on the brain injury modules there.

    He has expertise in diagnosis and management of Brain Injury, Dementia including Korsakoff’s syndrome, Huntington’s Disease, neuropsychiatric consequences of Epilepsy, memory problems and Functional/Dissociative Disorders, patients with criminality and Neuropsychiatric conditions and complex capacity assessments.
