    Dr Julie Withecomb has nearly 30 years’ experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, being involved in the assessment and treatment of children and young adults across in-patient, community, social care and criminal justice settings. For fifteen years she was the senior Consultant and Clinical Lead to the Wales national Forensic Adolescent Service.

    She has worked extensively with young people who have experienced trauma and has a particular interest in the interaction of trauma with neurodevelopmental conditions (ADHD and ASD) and mental illness. She has also worked with children with learning difficulties and substance misuse issues.

    Dr Withecomb has undertaken medico-legal work throughout her career and is experienced in report writing and in presenting evidence to courts and tribunals. She has completed training to support this work with Bond Solon.
